Club Meeting Minutes

10:10 PM

Club met at Metro Buffet in Cedar Rapids. 

Meeting was called to order by President, Randy Caldwell. 

First item of business- profit from spring trial was $141.39.

We will check into insurance rates.  (follow-up - we just paid our insurance.  We pay $409.  AKC is $600.)

AKC rule changes - we can now have up three horseback handling field trials per year.  They are also considering a flexible format.  At this time, this does not appear to effect our club.

Our fall field trial will be held at Pleasant Creek on October 16th-17th.  Randy Caldwell will chair and Darcy Bruns will secretary. 

We will host an AKC sanctioned hunt test this fall on October 3rd and 4th.   Dwain Sparks is the chair and Nate Schmidt is secretary. 

Agreed to check on the status of our donation for the National trophies.  (followed-up and forwarded a trophy donation form to Steve Laughlin, Treasurer).

Agreed to hold future club meetings at the Ruby Tuesday restaurant on Collins Rd NE in Cedar Rapids.  They have a meeting room and seem eager to have us come.

We our tentatively planning a picnic/fun hunt and fishing at the Lauglin/Donham farms for Labor Day, Monday, September 6th.  More details to follow.

We are also looking at another possible day of a fun hunt/training on either Saturday/Sunday October 23rd or 24th at the farms.  Both of these events depend on Steve and Kelley's schedules.
