August 7, 2011 Brown Bottle

Meeting was called to order by President Randy Caldwell.
Supper was purchased by the club. Motioned by Darcy Bruns, second Emily Bruns, passed.
First item for discussion was the club insurance. We moved our club insurance to the AKC effective
July 13, 2011. Better liability coverage with the AKC for club members working events.
Hunt test will be held October 22nd and 23rd at Pleasant Creek. Nate Schmidt will secretary. CJ will
chair.
Field trial will be held October 1st and 2nd at Pleasant Creek, This is the 39th week according to the
AKC calendar. Randy Caldwell will chair, Darcy Bruns will secretary.
Discussion was held on purchasing a computer program to held with field events. Several other clubs
are recommending we do so. Jean Donham made a motion we pursue this, Steve Zobel seconded.
Passed.
We will obtain birds from Rodney Albin for the trial. Keep entry fees and pay out the same. Randy will
reserve grounds. We'll request Steve Laughlin take care of trophies/ribbons and water.
Grounds were sprayed by the Shorthair and Birddogs Unlimited Clubs. We agreed to donate up to
$600 to cover and short in their expenses. Jean Donham made the motion. Kelley Donham
seconded. Passed.
We had discussion on helping put together a fall trial for the Hawkeye Club. Suggestions and names
were thrown out.
Will make plans for a fun day on Labor Day on the Laughlin/Donham farms. More info to follow.
We discussed equipment the club could use. We could use bird crates for our hunt tests. Agreed to
purchase five bird crates.
Discussion was held on how to increase membership. Taylor Zobel, Emily Bruns and Levi Bruns
agreed to create a facebook site to attract members. We also talked about attempting to create flyers
to hand out to veterinarians about our club. Hopefully, the vets would post these.
