Club President Randy Caldwell called the meeting to order. It was agreed that the club would provide
to appetizers to those attending. Appetizers were $13.98 + 18% tip. Will issue check to Darcy Bruns
for $16.50 to cover.
We discussed the treasurer’s report. We profited approximately $384 for spring 2011 events. We lost
approximately $96 for fall events. That plus insurance we are down approximately $290 from a year
ago. Current balance is $3,784.01. Motion to accept treasurer’s report from Taylor, second from
Kelley, motion passed.
Old business –
We discussed club website. It was agreed that Kelley would contact Randy DeSpain to see if he would
relinquish the handling to the club website. Taylor Zobel have volunteered to administer this website.
(Update – Randy D has agreed to have Taylor take over. Details are being worked out.)
Other old business – We had discussed ordering bird boxes for the club use. We have bird boxes at
Kelley and Steve’s farm; however, we would like to have some closer to club events. Randy Caldwell
will order five bird boxes. Approved.
New business –
Hunt test. We will hold a hunt test in conjunction with the Bird Dogs Unlimited Club on April 28-29,
2012 at Pleasant Creek. By holding these together it gives a dog four opportunities to qualify in one
weekend. Hopefully, this will draw in more participants. CJ Deulemaere will chair and Nate Schmidt will
secretary. We will need help this weekend as several of our club members are members of both
clubs. Please help if you can.
Field trial – Trial will be held May 5-6, 2012 at Pleasant Creek. Randy Caldwell will chair and Darcy
Bruns is secretary. Agreed to the following as entry fees: Puppy $40, Derby $45, Gun Dog $50 and
Open Limited $65. Open limited has a payout to the top three finishers. Randy will obtain the DNR
permit/bird bands. Steve Laughlin will order trophies and ribbons and the horse water.
It was mentioned that Jerry Flynn from Winterset, one of the gentlemen that has judged for us in the
past, passed away that week. Secretary will send a sympathy card to his family.
A clean-up/work day will be announced soon for Pleasant Creek.
A fun day/next meeting will be held on Saturday, May 19th, at Steve and Kelley’s farm.
No other business.
Motion to adjourn – Kelley, second Levi, motion passed.
Respectfully submitted
Darcy Bruns
Club Secretary
